I have been Missing in Action due to working on a website. Last year about this time I made a bunch of changes to WoosterGenerals.com, well this year I am venturing into an auction site. The basic idea behind it is to help Booster Clubs to raise funds by running penny auctions. What is a penny auction? It is where buyers pay for a package of bids and then bid on items like TV's, Xbox's, and even cars. Items can go for 15% of retail, and the Booster Clubs will still make money. All across America Booster Clubs need ways to raise funds, and this is a new and exciting way, with a wide pool of potential supporters. So, I may be able to help the program in more ways than one now. It is not nears done yet, but it is getting there. So if you pop in over there, it is OK if you let me know if things need fixed or ideas you might have. Also, it is using Facebook connect, which means you could be bidding in less than 30 seconds. If you want to be a part of it or invest in it, shoot me an email.

Wooster High School will host the girls high school games on Dec. 5 with Lake, Orrville, Medina, Northwestern, Wadsworth and Wooster High Schools participating.

Looks like the matchups are Medina-Wadsworth, Lake-Wooster and Orrville-Northwestern.

Boys games will be at Lake with Canfield, GlenOak, Lake, Louisville, Poland, Walsh Jesuit High Schools participating.

Greenbrier Party will host the brunch on Dec. 5. Tickets for the “Hoops 4 Healing” brunch are available by calling Chuck Cooper at 330-465-6661.

11 years ago the “Hoops 4 Healing” Classic started when 4 area coaches were diagnosed with a rare liver disease known as Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, or PSC.

Hal Smith of Malone College, Steve Loy of Walsh University and Bruce Brown of Lake High School and then Athletic Director Chuck Cooper of Wooster. Chuck Cooper coached basketball at the College of Wooster, Adrian College (MI.) and at Northwestern High School.

In 1998 Chuck Cooper was diagnosed with PSC and underwent a successful, traditional liver transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in July of 1999. Chuck Cooper is now a volunteer speaker for LifeBanc of Northeast Ohio.

Under the Weather and Volleyball Tournament

Been coughing up a storm and laying around doing nothing, missing football, soccer and volleyball this weekend, so I must be sick.

Volleyball placed 4th at the Stow Invite going 1-2. Gilmour placed 1st, Lake Catholic was 2nd, and Columbian 3rd. Also participating were Mentor (5th), Stow (6th), Fairfield (7th) and Solon (8th). The places are my guess according to the results I have seen.

On a side note, being sick, I have been watching TV tonight, which I watch maybe 6 hours a week, and most of that is watching NASCAR, with NASCAR going Saturday night, tonight I was watching Three Rivers on CBS, great series, emotional also, even if it is not real.

Wooster Takes Share of OCC Title

Wooster and Ashland battled it out for top billing in the OCC Thursday at Ashland Community Stadium. It was tied 1-1 at the half with Kristin Elliot picking up the Wooster goal, on an assist from Jenn Philippon. Elliot has now scored a goal in 4 of the last 6 games.

40 more minutes could not decide a winner so they went to Overtime. Ashland got more chances in the OT period and had their best chance stopped by Staci Hackett as time expired. Hackett was hurt on the play prompting Ellie Rickett to warm up, for the Shootout. After several minutes, Hackett was able to get to her feet, and a drink of water seemed to do the trick.

With each team selecting their 5 girls that will participate in the shootout, Wooster went first. Jenn Philippon found her spot in the back of the net for a 1-0 Wooster lead. Ashland would also score. Annalise Battig then made her shot, with Ashland also connecting. Beth Courson made it 3-2 Wooster. Ashland would send the ball wide right giving Wooster a goal advantage with the same amount of players shooting. Kristin Elliot made it 4-2, Ashland then made it 4-3. Jennifer Fox made the final shot in Wooster's 5-3 win over Lexington on Monday, with a chance to do it again, Fox...

Girls Soccer in OCC Finals with 1-0 win over Lex

Thanks to David Cooley who took the video from behind the goal, and Steve Fox who shot from the stands.

Wooster beat Lexington 1-0 after regulation and overtime was not enough, they went to a shootout which Wooster won 5-3 to knock off top seed Lexington. Wooster will travel to Ashland Thursday looking to win the OCC crown. Wooster will have its hands full as Ashland will be out to revenge a 2-0 loss at Wooster earlier in the year. The game is set for 7:00. Looks like the game will be at the high school Community Stadium, that is where they have been playing their game the past two weeks, not at the soccer complex. It is a turf field. Wooster has played several opponents on turf fields this year, so that advantage may be marginalized.

Wooster will be making their first appearance in the finals, it will be Ashland's sixth appearance.

Video of the shootout was shot and might be posted tonight.

Generals fall to the Colts 35-14

A long 65 yard run by Jordan McCune put Wooster in a whole 7-0 just 1:14 into the game. Wooster would tie it up at 7-7 as Bryan Gallo-Malta hit Duke Price for a 24 yard TD with 8:55 left in the 2nd quarter.

With a little help from their friends, Clear Fork converted two 4th down plays and had a Pass Interference capped by a 7 yard TD run from McCune to go up 14-7.  Wooster held McCune to 18 yards on 7 carries after his initial 65 yard run in the 1st half.

The 2nd half started about like the 1st half as McCune when off tackle and burst for a 31 yards before being stopped at Wooster's 41. On the next play Eric Kline took it the final 41 yards giving Clear Fork a 21-7 lead just 0:32 into the 2nd half.

Wooster was able to move to the Colts' 33 on their next possession before stalling and punting away.

Clear Fork would connect on a 22 yard TD pass to Jake Dickerson 4th and 6 to go up 28-7. After a 3-and-out for Wooster, Clear Fork mounted a 12 play 80 yard drive capped by a 3rd TD run by McCune from 7 yards out.

Devin Daugherty came in at quarterback for the last drive and hit Stewart Turner from 50 yards out to close out the scoring. Daugherty was 1-for-3 for 50 yards and a TD.

Gallo-Malta was 7-of-18 for 107 and 1 TD. He also had gained 49 yards on 11 carries. Turner finished with 50 yards receiving and 1 TD. Duke Price had...
